When I was in school this was the popular idea, and it seems to be frequently encouraged to this day, because I get asked this all the time! I DID start in med -surg but not entirely by choice, as you’ll hear. However, it gave me some great insight to bring to you, and I can give you the pro’s and con’s of starting in Med-Surg versus a specialty.
